Washington (CNN) The US military has dropped a huge bomb in Afghanistan, as per four US military authorities with direct learning of the mission.
A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, nicknamed MOAB, was dropped at 7 p.m. nearby time Thursday, the sources said.
The MOAB is otherwise called the "mother of all bombs." A MOAB is a 21,600-pound, GPS-guided ammo that is America's most effective non-atomic bomb.
The bomb was dropped by a MC-130 air ship, worked via Air Force Special Operations Command, as indicated by the military sources.
They said the objective was ISIS passages and work force in the Achin locale of the Nangarhar region.
The military is at present evaluating the harm. Gen. John Nicholson, administrator of US powers in Afghanistan, approved the utilization of the bomb, as indicated by the sources.
